NA Review - Simple Perfection (#2) by Abbi Glines

Simple Perfection (Perfection #2) by Abbi Glines

Goodreads Blurb

Woods had his perfect life mapped out for him. Rise up the ranks of the family business. Marry the rich girl of his parents’ dreams. Pretend that wealth and privilege was all he’d ever wanted. Then a girl named Della breezed into town, a beautifully imperfect stranger who captured his heart and opened his eyes to a new kind of future. Woods is ready and willing to sacrifice everything for her when the sudden death of his father leaves him with his mother to care for and a business to manage.

Della is determined to be strong for Woods, even as she’s quietly falling to pieces. No matter how far from home she’s run, the ghosts of her past have never stopped haunting her. Struggling to hide her true feelings from Woods, Della fears she can’t be his rock without dragging him down into the darkness with her. But is she strong enough to let go of the last thing holding her together?

3.5 Stars!
(I just realised I don't have a 3.5 Stars, so I thought I would add both of those images ^. Since I was kind of stuck between those thoughts while I was reading the novel.)

Wow... I'm at a lost for words. This book was such an emotional rollercoaster, with so many surprises and twists thrown into the mix that just when I was getting use to one thing I'd get shocked with another one.
Simple Perfection continues where Twisted Perfection left off. We get to see how everything turns out now that Woods is the owner of the Kerrington country club. Of course with Angelina and his mom thrown into the mix, you'll definitely be expecting some bumpy rides. But when Della still has the nightmares of her pasts taunting her, well... let's just say that's where everything gets really interesting and the twists begin. ;)

But as the revelations gets uncovered, just when you think there's a happily ever after in the horizon for our favorite characters, Abbi just has to shake things up to get a rise out of us. With so many surprises in the novel, there is one in particular that had me bawling my eyes out, thinking Nooooo! Abbi how could you! *then sits there trynna find a way of why Abbi would do this to us*

As the one shocking event that no one saw coming rocks the town, I really thought yep that's it, that's all Abbi has for us. But nope she just has to throw something else in there. And as I kept on reading towards the end, I realise that Woods and Della's story may be over but the other characters story are just beginning. And man oh man am I excited about that! I really dread the day when Abbi finally closes this series, because these Characters have really grown on me that I can't imagine ANY of their stories ending. :(

Reading about another favorite couple finally getting their HEA, I realise how deeply I feel for these characters I've grown to love and even though they've been through so much, their love is stronger than anything the world has to offer and it's a great example that we just gotta hold on to things that truly matter no matter what obstacles are in our way.

Okay so to the bad things (I know I know, we don't wanna know anything bad) but its only a minor thing I swear! I feel like Abbi should have expanded more on what happened to Angelina and Mrs Kerrington. I feel like they just disappeared from the storyline out of no where without a solid answer, and they've been a big part of Woods and a bit of Della's life since the beginning and it would have been nice to see if they would resolve their issues or what with each other? Maybe even put the past behind them and try and get along? Or forbade each other from seeing someone? Just something to let us know what happened to them in the end...

But overall, to me it was the unexpected surprises that made this novel an enjoyable sequel to book one. And of course Woods and Della and the supporting characters that truly made it perfect to read.

So, does it sound like you'll love this novel? Then Go get your copy now! =)

CHARACTER INTERVIEW

(Mary from Wish Upon A Star Reviews): Hey guys, Thank you so much for being here today! Hope you all had an awesome holiday.

(Mary): So first of all, What was your favorite moment of 2013?
Logan: slumps down in chair and mutters, “Fuck me.”
Mason ignores him, but ignores the interviewer too.
Sam says, “Um…”
Mason speaks for her, “We don’t do the cheesy shit.”
Logan sits back up. “Next question.”

(Mary):  And Sam, I’ve always wanted to know. How did Jeff first ask you out on a date? Was it romantic? Or did he pass you a note in class to tick yes or no? ;-)
Logan and Mason both look at her. They’re interested in the answer.
Sam says, “I played basketball in junior high. He gave me a ride home and he kept giving me rides home. Then he gave me a ride to a party and we kissed. Just happened, I guess.”

(Mary):  And boys, How did you first fall in love with Sport such as football/basketball? Was there a special moment that started it all?
Logan grins. “Mason fell in love with it when he realized he could beat the crap out of people on the field and not get in trouble.”
Mason laughs. “That was in third grade.”

(Mary to Sam):  If you had never met Mason, would you have given Adam a chance and dated him?
Sam says, “No. I had just broken up with Jeff, there was no way I was going to date someone else from FCA. Not for awhile, if ever.”

(Mary to Mason):  Who was the very first girl you ever fell deeply in love with?
“Sam.” He looks at the interviewer with a blank face.

(Mary to Logan):  In your opinion, what’s a girls best asset? ;-)
A wicked grin comes to him. “If she hooks up with me. That’s her best asset.”

(Mary):  And I’ve always wondered, but how did you boys first meet Nate? Was it a hate streak at first or did you guys see each other and go ‘Yep…  your gonna be my pal”… (LOL)
Mason still has the blank expression on his face. “He moved into a house down the street.”
Logan laughs. “He was a rich kid. We beat it out of him.”
Sam glances between the two. “You guys are rich kids.”
“No,” Mason gentles his tone as he looks at her. The blank expression disappears. “There’s an attitude that some rich kids have. We don’t like that.”
“We’re arrogant, but not because of money that we didn’t earn,” Logan adds.

(Mary):  And If you could be a celebrity for a day, who would you be and in three words why?
Mason ignores the question.
Sam’s eyes get wide.
Logan grins again. “Talk show host. Because that’d be awesome.”

(Mary):  Okay, so we promise we won’t tell her, but what do you all think of Tijan, you know the awesome chick that wrote your books? ;-)
They all look confused.
Logan says, “What kind of name is Tijan?”

(Mary):  And lastly, If you could Wish Upon A Star, you would wish for… ?
Mason ignores the question.
Logan shrugs. “I enjoy getting laid. Maybe some good fights.” He glances at Sam.
She says, “Family.”
Mason looks over at her and then takes her hand in his.

-------------------------------

(Mary):  And that’s all we have for today, Sam, Mason and Logan thanks so much for being here today! And a special thanks to Tijan for the interview!

And to the readers, If you haven’t already, you NEED to buy her novels TODAY! J
You won’t regret it, promise ;-).

 EXCERPT :)

My hand tightened on my bag as I crossed the parking lot. Logan’s car was still parked next to mine. What was my brother still doing here? Nate’s car was here too. Things were cold between the two, but they could joke around with each other. Still, I didn’t see them hanging out together, and I hadn’t seen either of them in the locker room. Coach needed to talk to me, and most of the guys were gone when I came out.
“Hey,” Logan spoke up, straightening from his Escalade.
I frowned. My little brother looked tired. “You need to stop with this whole sex marathon you’ve got going on.” Unlocking my car, I tossed my bag inside.
Logan rolled his eyes. “Whatever. I hear you and Sam going at it all the time. Don’t you guys take a fucking break?”
I grunted. Nice choice of words. “I can have all the sex I want with her. Know why? Because she’s my girlfriend, and I love her. I know my dick can be in her, and it’s safe. She’s safe. We’re not going to be having little Kades running around here anytime soon. Can you say the same?”
“You’re such a dick.”
“A dick that cares about you. Stop all the screwing around. You’ll catch something or you’re going to end up with a kid.”
“What’s your problem?” Logan ran a hand through his hair.
“You’re my problem. I mean it, Logan. Stop screwing around. Find a girl, get some feelings for her, and be rabbits.” He was pissed. We both knew it, but I wasn’t going to ask for the motivation of his sudden marathon. “There has to be some girl in this town that you could date who’s not Tate.”
Logan shot me a dark look. “Get over yourself. I don’t love her, and you know it.”
I narrowed my eyes, studying him before I relented. “Do whatever you want. Mom’ll love being a grandmother.”
My brother shot me a different look now, one filled with dark humor. “Can you imagine that? Helen quilting little booties for the kid? She’d flip out.”
“If we thought she went nuts after the divorce...” I chuckled. “I’ve got a feeling we haven’t seen nothing yet. She’d go ape-shit.”
“I’d feel bad for whoever the chick would be.” Logan shuddered, laughing at the same time. Then he stopped and studied me for a moment. “What are you going to do about Sam?”
The amusement was gone.
A cruel glint appeared and Logan added, “Mom’s moving back to Fallen Crest. What’s Sam going to do when you leave for college?”
I cursed. “That’s for me and Sam to deal with. You don’t need to worry about it.”
“Screw you, Mason. I care about her, too. We both know Mom’s going to want me to live with her. I, sure as shit, ain’t stepping foot in Dad’s place while he’s got Psychopath Barbie with him, and I’m not letting Sam go back there. No way in hell.”
“No way in hell?” An equally cruel look came over my face as my lips curved in a mocking smirk. “Look at you, already stepping in shoes that aren’t yours.”
“And they’re yours?”
